Bethel will be supporting these ministries financially and
encouraging members and friends to get involved and volunteer!
The following are the Committee’s targeted missions for 2019.

Spring City Food Pantry/Hope on the Hill.
First UCC of Spring City, 145 Chestnut Street, Spring City
Spring City Food Pantry, ministry of Project Outreach provides donations of groceries to individuals and families of limited income on Thursday mornings and operated solely by volunteer time and other donations. Approximately 100 households are served at any given time. For many years the people of Bethel have provided donations, primarily food and time, to the Pantry.

Hope on the Hill offers dinner every Wednesday at 5:00 PM for the community, primarily homeless and low income people. At Hope on the Hill request, Bethel periodically has primary responsibility for dinner, but looking to be scheduled for quarterly dinners. Volunteers and
donations are welcome always.

In Ian’s Boots
1486 S. Hanover Street, Pottstown just south of Coventry Pub
In Ian’s Boots is a ministry dedicated to providing shoes and boots to those who need them, both locally and worldwide through mission. Entirely through donations and volunteers Boots has donated more than 200,000 pairs of shoes and boots over the past ten years. Joan Spiece (every
week) and others from Bethel have volunteered over the years. Typical volunteer times are 5:30 to 8:00 Monday and Tuesday evenings. A Boots barrel for donations has long been situated on Bethel’s ground floor.
Bethel workday: Saturday, October 19 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Good Works is Christian nonprofit organization which repairs homes for low-income homeowner families in central & northern Chester County, PA. Repairs are provided at no cost to the homeowners and volunteers do most of the work. Bethel has already participated in two work days (first Saturday of each month) and is looking to expand our involvement by taking responsibility for a home renovation.

Bethel to Bethel
B to B is a project of Bethel working with Bethel UMC and Gilgil District in Nakuru County, Kenya. Through VBS, individual, and church contributions, a pre-school (summer 2018 and kitchen (summer 2019) have been built, electricity and water made available to the church
property, a water storage tank and pump have been installed and Bibles, clothing and pre-school chairs and table provided.
